Refund Policy

Last reviewed 2026-07-31

The whole policy in two sentences: cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment and you get all your money back, no reason needed. Cancel inside 24 hours, or miss it, and your fee becomes a credit you can use on any service here for 12 months — plus one free reschedule, so in practice you just come back another day.

The short version

If you only read one part of this page, read this one.

  • At least 24 hours before your appointment: full refund, back to the card you paid with.
  • Inside 24 hours, or you do not show up: no cash refund. Your fee becomes a credit valid for 12 months, and you get one free reschedule.
  • After we have delivered your verdict: the work is done and the fee is earned — including when the verdict is "not viable".
  • If we cancel, or we cannot deliver: full refund, always, no conditions.

Cancelling at least 24 hours ahead

Cancel from your dashboard, or send us a message through the contact page. You do not have to explain why, and we will not ask.

The full amount goes back to the card you paid with — $150 for a consultation. We start the refund the moment you cancel. How long it takes to appear on your statement is up to your bank, not us; card refunds usually take a few business days.

Your appointment slot goes straight back into the calendar for someone else.

Cancelling inside 24 hours, or missing the appointment

This is the part that is not in your favour, so here it is plainly: inside the window, we do not refund the fee in cash.

The fee converts to a credit on your account instead. That credit is worth exactly what you paid, it applies to any service we offer, and it lasts 12 months. On top of that you get one free reschedule, so the normal outcome of a late cancellation is that you book another time and pay nothing more.

The reason for the rule is the ordinary one: the time was held for you and could not be sold to anyone else on short notice. It is not a penalty and it is not designed to keep your money — the credit is worth full value and the reschedule is free.

Life happens. If something serious went wrong, tell us. We would rather hear it than apply a rule to someone having a bad week.

Once your verdict has been delivered

The thing you buy is the written verdict: our honest opinion on whether your project works, why, and what it should cost. Once that has been delivered, the service has been performed and the fee is earned. There is no refund at that point, and that applies whatever the verdict says.

That includes a verdict of not viable. We understand it is the disappointing one. It is also, quite often, the most valuable thing anyone will tell you about that project — because everyone else in the chain gets paid only if you go ahead. You paid for an opinion from someone whose income does not depend on your answer, and you got one.

If you think we got the facts wrong — we misread a measurement, missed something on site, priced the wrong scope — that is different. Tell us. We will look again and, if we were wrong, we will correct the report or refund you. Being wrong is a thing we fix, not a thing we argue about.

How credits work

A credit is money we owe you toward work here. It is applied automatically to your next booking, and your dashboard shows the balance and the expiry date from the day it appears.

Credits cannot be paid out in cash, transferred to someone else, or exchanged for money. They expire 12 months after they are issued. We show the date rather than letting it lapse quietly — no expiring balances hidden in an account page nobody reads.

If we cancel

If we cancel your appointment, cannot reach you, or decide your project is outside what we can competently advise on, you get a full refund. Not a credit — your money.

The same applies if it turns out we cannot serve your area. We check the postal code before you pay for exactly this reason, but if something slips through, the money comes back.

How to cancel or reschedule

Sign in and use your dashboard, or message us through the contact page. Both work; the dashboard is faster because it releases the slot immediately.

There is no cancellation form to hunt for, no phone tree, and no retention offer designed to talk you out of it.

If something goes wrong with a payment

Talk to us before you dispute a charge with your bank. A chargeback takes weeks and involves people who know nothing about your project; we can usually fix the problem the same day.

If we genuinely owe you money, you do not need a bank to make us pay it.
